Ride Leader Program

Leading our Group Rides

All SDBC Saturday Rides (except the A-Ride) are led by at least one Safe Sport certified Ride Leader, ensuring structure, safety, and a positive group experience. Development Rides often include additional leaders, such as a designated "whip" or sweeper, who helps keep the group together.

Riders should position themselves behind or beside the leader and ahead of the sweeper for optimal ride organization. SDBC Ride Leaders are experienced cyclists committed to safety and enjoyment, and they are introduced during the pre-ride briefing.

Become a Ride Leader!

SDBC occasionally seeks new Ride Leaders to join our team. If you're an active member, show up regularly, and are known for riding smart and keeping things fun and safe, you might be a perfect fit. Being a Ride Leader isn’t about riding the fastest — it’s about looking out for the group and making sure everyone is safe and has a great time. If that sounds like you, let’s chat!
