Amazon Smile

Do you shop at Amazon.com? If so, it's easy for you to help SDBC receive donations from Amazon to SDBC. Just use the "Amazon Smile” charitable process in your account. Amazon Smile funnels a small percentage of their eligible purchase revenue to SDBC if you activate Amazon Smile in your account and choose “San Diego Bicycle Club” as the beneficiary nonprofit.

Instead of logging in through "amazon.com" you log-in through “smile.amazon.com.” Very easy to use. It is EXACTLY the same shopping experience. Nothing changes except SDBC receives contributions from Amazon.

    From the President
San Diego Bicycle Club E-Bike Reminder

Great to see so many of you back in the saddle last Saturday!

As a reminder, it is the policy of the San Diego Bicycle Club that electric bikes (e-bikes) are NOT allowed on any SDBC ride. This policy was adopted six years ago after determining e-bikes posed increased risk to other riders, and potential liability to ride leaders and officers & directors.

The Board of Directors will be re-examining this issue later this summer, with Training Director Charlie Sykes and the ride leaders making a recommendation to the Board. In the meantime, please keep all our riders safer by not using your e-bike.

Thanks! I’m looking forward to riding with you this Saturday.

    Thank you!

    Mike

    From the Training Director
    Saturday Rides Update and Reminders

We are pleased with the successful restart of our Saturday Rides. They have been well-attended with almost everyone spreading out in the parking lot and wearing masks. We will continue with the current protocols until further notice.

    Reminders:

If you are sick, coughing, sneezing, or have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 - STAY HOME.

Masks and social distancing are required prior to rollout. Carry your mask on the ride and use as appropriate.

Do not arrive more than 20 minutes before your rollout time, stay by your cars or spread out until instructed to form your group.

Do not crowd around the Union Bank ATM or the entrance to UCC.

Listen to instructions - short announcements will be made to each group.

A/B/C Rides will start rolling out at 8:20

Development Rides will start rolling out at 8:30

Be careful in the CVS parking lot riding to and from our coffee stop, Cafe LaTerre. It can be busy and many drivers are not expecting to see so many cyclists there.

Complete guidelines can be found on our website: https://www.sdbc.org/20210406-guidlines-for-restarting-saturday-rides

It was good to see so many familiar faces along with some new ones last week. Hope to see more of you soon!
