Saturday Rides Restart April 17th |
|
Great news - our world famous Saturday rides restart on April 17th. The Board of Directors voted nearly unanimously to do so after reviewing new State guidelines, which said those who take part in outdoor cycling events were at low risk for contracting COVID-19. You can read it for yourself at:

But we’re not out of the COVID woods yet. So we're taking precautions before roll-out. Training Director Charlie Sykes is working on that now. His report is up next.

Electronic Membership Cards |
|
SDBC is moving to electronic membership cards. From today, you can access your electronic Membership Card by logging into your account at www.SDBC.org. Go to Members/My Account and then click on the Membership Card tab. Please present this electronic card on your smartphone to receive discounts at our sponsors and for attendance at club events. Physical cards will remain valid through the expiry date.

| Saturday Rides Restarting April 17th |
|
Get ready to see your SDBC Saturday Ride friends soon as the Rides restart in just over two weeks on April 17th. There will be modifications to the timing of group rollouts and some additional rules which will be published next week. Please watch this space for details. The A and B groups will roll out before 8:30--don't be left behind!
New SDBC Coffee Stop
SDBC's official Saturday coffee stop and Club sponsor, Solana Beach Coffee Company, has closed and the owner is looking for a new location in the coastal area. For now we have selected a new coffee stop in Solana Beach. It's Cafe LaTerre which is at the south end of the CVS building at 315 Hwy 101, a little north of the SBCC location. They just opened and are offering a 10% discount to SDBC members. The cafe will be adding additional seating over the next few weeks along with bike racks and some umbrellas. In addition to coffee drinks made from house-roasted beans, they offer an array of pastries and light meals.

Save $10 Until the End of March on Padres Pedal the Cause |
|
Have you joined the SDBC team to support cancer research with the Padres Pedal for the Cause event on May 8th?? If not, come join us!! NEW this year there are NO required fundraising minimums! That's right, raise what you can! Sign up at gopedal.org under the SDBC Team for this virtual event, where you set your own challenge distance. They'll be having 3 cheers stations throughout SD County this year (TBD), so you can plan your route around these! It's a great cause, and a great reason to get out and ride! Participation in the event is $49 which includes some cool SWAG.

We will have socks from the Sock Guy in mid-April. They will have our 75th logo on them and I hear that they are guaranteed to add a few watts and/or mph. Seriously, these are great socks.
