Saturday Rides Restart April 17th |
|
Great news - our world famous Saturday rides restart on April 17th. The Board of Directors voted nearly unanimously to do so after reviewing new State guidelines, which said those who take part in outdoor cycling events were at low risk for contracting COVID-19. You can read it for yourself at:

But we’re not out of the COVID woods yet. So we're taking precautions before roll-out. Training Director Charlie Sykes is working on that now. His report is up next.

| Saturday Rides Restarting April 17th |
|
As announced in a special newsflash by President Mike McLaughlin, SDBC's Board of Directors voted last week to restart the Saturday Rides on April 17th. There will be modifications to the timing of group rollouts and some additional rules which will be published in coming weeks. Please watch this space for details as the A and B groups will roll out before 8:30--don't be left behind! Charlie

SDBC’s Aaron Wang Stars In
International T.V. Show |
|
You read that right. Junior racer Aaron Wang is in a 10-part television show called “All Around Champion.” Now starting its third season, the show brings junior athlete in 10 disciplines together from across the US & Canada. Each teaches his/her sport to the other 9. The 9 compete while the “teacher” sits out. 10 competitions. 10 winners. Here’s a promo picture of Aaron...
He traveled to Canada for the competition, but first was filmed here in San Diego. Raymond Wang, SDBC Juniors Director and Aaron’s father says, "The crew came to San Diego and filmed Aaron, Natalie and Dave Grylls at the velodrome. Full SDBC kits were worn and Spinergy wheels were used. My wife and I should be in Aaron's episode for the parents interview.”

Have you joined the SDBC team to support cancer research with the Padres Pedal for the Cause event on May 8th?? If not, come join us!! NEW this year there are NO required fundraising minimums! That's right, raise what you can! Sign up at gopedal.org under the SDBC Team for this virtual event, where you set your own challenge distance. They'll be having 3 cheers stations throughout SD County this year (TBD), so you can plan your route around these! It's a great cause, and a great reason to get out and ride! Participation in the event is $49 (use code: SDBC for $10 off through the end of March) which includes some cool SWAG.

We will have socks from the Sock Guy in mid-April. They will have our 75th logo on them and I hear that they are guaranteed to add a few watts and/or mph. Seriously, these are great socks.
