Do you shop at Amazon.com? If so, it's easy for you to help SDBC receive donations from Amazon to SDBC. Just use the "Amazon Smile” charitable process in your account. Amazon Smile funnels a small percentage of their eligible purchase revenue to SDBC if you activate Amazon Smile in your account and choose “San Diego Bicycle Club” as the beneficiary nonprofit.
Instead of logging in through "amazon.com" you log-in through “smile.amazon.com.” Very easy to use. It is EXACTLY the same shopping experience. Nothing changes except SDBC receives contributions from Amazon. |

Special Events Update |

Christmas is upon us! The Kroc Center really needs our help to provide for all the families in need. Santa is disappointed that he won't be able to see all your smiling faces however, our annual Santa Ride will be in small groups this year. Form a small group of 3-10 of your typical ride buddies and do your own Toy Drive to the Kroc Center dressed in your best Christmas costume on Dec 12 or 13. See the website for details or last week's email.
Or you can donate online via one of the two gift registries:
- Angel Tree of Kroc Center San Diego via Walmart
- The Kroc Center Wish list on Amazon
Or you can drop off toy or food donations at UCC in the box just inside the door.
Also, see the details on Facebook.
Thank you very much for your assistance,
Rod Stubbs

Winners of the SDBC November Fall Ride and Photo Contest |
|
Thank you to everyone who entered our first ever Ride and Photo Contest!! All of our winners took to the dirt to escape (can you blame with them with the year we've had) with a variety of routes and some adventure-inspiring pics!!
Grand prize winner of a $200 Specs Optometry gift certificate: Bea Dormoy!
Gift card winners: Andy Gurney, Rene Leva, and Esther Walker!
"Nothing says Fall like riding awesome single track" says Bea Dormoy. Her route wound through the fall follage in the Cuyamacas and past a flock of turkeys at the trailhead. Check out her route here.
Andy put on his climbing legs, and rode up Palomar Mountain on the lightly-travelled Nate Harrison Grade. Esther rode the Big Laguna Loop on her mtn bike, and Rene took out his gravel bike to hit some great trails in the coastal canyons. Well done everyone! Check out photos of their adventures on SDBC social media. And special thanks to Specs Optometry (https://www.specsoptometry.com/) for providing the grand prize! What, you missed this contest? Well, keep your eyes open for another contest for January 2021!

Southern California is currently under a State of California Stay-at-Home mandate. The County of San Diego's current health order reflects the stricter rules. To remain in compliance, the SDBC Saturday Rides will continue to be suspended. We encourage you to continue riding for your physical and mental health while keeping in mind the stricter guidelines just issued. This is the verbiage taken from the State's website:
"Members of the same household are encouraged to maintain physical and mental health by safely going to a park, a beach, hike, walk, or bike ride with members of their own household. Californians are also encouraged to keep connected with loved ones virtually."
Please do not gather at UC Cyclery on Saturday mornings. If you choose to ride with a friend or two from there, please leave the parking area quickly and do not form large groups. Let's all stay healthy and safe while we ride out this recent surge in the pandemic.

I purchased this bike in 1999 and have and ridden it both locally and on RAGBRAI rides
for many years. It's a 60cm sizing and I'm 6'1". Dura-Ace equipped and also has up-
graded wheels--Kysirium SSC SL wheelset. Plenty of mileage left for road service or convert to a single speed for winter covid training.
Bicycle Bluebook: $552-$569
ebay: 2002 tuscany (frame one step below) $1138
ebay: unknown year, ultimate (better frame) $991
ebay: lightspeed classic (for parts or not working) $483
