By way of introduction, I am a member of SDBC (recently moved to San Diego) work at UC Cyclery!

For sale is a 2019 Trek Domane SLR 7, Disc in a Size 52 (non-gender specific). A great endurance bike with Trek's 600 OCLV carbon, Ultegra Di2 and Disc brakes. The bike has been well-maintained and has approximately 1,500 miles on it.

Bike can be used for gravel rides with different tires!

Socal Cross Prestige Series Returns to San Diego!

SDBC and SoCal Cross are working together to host a CYCLOCROSS race weekend!

Don't have a cyclocross bike? No problem! Bring what you got! Mountain Bike, Commuter, Gravel - there is a race for everyone!  (There will also be loaners available)

9am Saturday, 11/2 Crosscountry Run, Mountain Bike Relay and Dirt Duathlon

10am Sunday, 11/3 USAC sanctioned CX Racing - see schedule

SDBC Juniors are welcome to join Torrey Pines High School (TPHS) Mountain Bike Club for practices.

Head Coach Derek Steiner has graciously invited our Juniors to come train with the Mountain Bike Club. Coach Steiner is a SDBC member and the father of Women's Team Racer Mckenzie Steiner. Mckenzie is now racing for the Air Force Academy.  The SDBC junior mountain bike ride will be open to all riders, but to participate each rider will have to fill out a release form.

Practices are starting on October 22 with the last being Nov 26

 
The High School Mountain Bike Club invites riders from all other High Schools in the area. The ride leaves from the parking area at the intersection of 56 and Carmel Valley Road.  All ability levels are welcome.  But all riders must fill out a release before participating (minors require parent signature).  Riders younger than 13 should have a parent come along for the ride.  Depending on who shows up, there will be an A and B ride.

The A ride is fast and will may not wait for dropped riders It is for older more experienced kids.  There will be a fixed route, but no support for the A riders,  a buddy system is highly encouraged.

Coach Derek will lead the B ride. It is no-drop, so there may be more waiting.  The focus of the B ride will be mountain biking technique and fun.

Congratulations to Frank Lehnerz for being elected to the Coalition board for a two year term starting January 1, 2020! Frank brings a variety of perspectives to the board given his extensive experience in civil engineering, bike commuting, traffic safety skills, data analysis and club group riding. The San Diego cycling community is lucky to be represented by him.

If you can volunteer this Sunday at CicloSDias, please do. I can’t, because I'll be on the Borrego trip. If you’ve never been, go check it out.

OCTOBER 26-27

Ride to Borrego Palm Canyon Campground on Saturday, return on Sunday, 75 miles each day. Sag vehicles will carry your camp gear for you. (No promise of vehicle support on the route, you are responsible for getting to the campsite.) All you have to do is ride.

Meet at 7 am at the Mira Mesa Park and Ride to load gear. Riders off at 7:30.

Sag drivers needed. If anyone wants to volunteer to be a follow vehicle and offer rider support, that would be great. Otherwise, drivers can head for the desert as soon as they are loaded and enjoy a ride or a hike.

Must be a club member to participate, and this event is free to club members!
