SDBC is staging a bike rodeo & helmet giveaway this Saturday for Logan Heights Elementary School.

Annual SDBC Borrego Springs Ride and Camp |
Now taking reservations for the Borrego ride and camp! October 27-28
|
Meet at the Mira Mesa Park and ride (I-15 & Mira Mesa Blvd) at 7am to load your gear into sag vehicles, meet your fellow riders and be ready to roll at 8am.
This is a 75 mile ride each day, and you are expected to be able to make it on your own, and arrive before dark. SAG support is limited to carrying food and gear for all riders, unless you have made your own sag arrangenents. There is no official leader on the road, but you will get a map/directions.
Saturday's dinner and Sunday's breakfast are provided. Lunch is on your own in Santa Ysabel. All participants are expected to help with camp chores: cooking, clean up, loading & unloading gear.
Must be an SDBC member, as this event is free. Limited to 50 participants, riders and SAG drivers.

Borrego Springs Conditioning Rides |
Continuing through October 21st, 2018
We're organizing four rides to prepare for the October 27 & 28, Borrego Springs ride & camping trip.
Dates - October 7, 14, and 21. All Sundays.
Meet up time - 7:30 AM.
Meet up location - Cal Trans District Office; 4050 Taylor Street San Diego 92110 (MAP LINK)
Route - Circle Mission Valley counterclockwise up and down the best longest hills we can find. (STRAVA LINK)
Objective - 60 miles & 6,000 ft elevation gain or when we're out of gas.

Padres Pedal the Cause |
Join SDBC at Padres Pedal
the Cause on
November 17, 2018
Padres Pedal the Cause is a local nonprofit that seeks to fund cancer research that will lead to increased survivorship and ultimately, cures for cancer. Their biggest fundraising effort is an annual cycling event at Petco Park – and we are happy to announce that SDBC has created a team this event.
How can you participate:
There is Cycling (4 routes – including 25, 55, 88 and 100 miles, all going over the Coronado Bridge and finishing on Centerfield.), 5K walk/run, Kids Challenge (closed bike loop) or Stationary Bike – all events end on the field at Petco Park with free food & beverage. There are also volunteer opportunities.

The beneficiaries:
Every dollar participants raise goes directly to the following beneficiaries: Moores Cancer Center at UC San Diego Health, the Salk Institute for Biological Studies, Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute and Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego.

Baja Bike Race is a 73 mile race and gran fondo taking you on a journey through the Valle de Guadalupe, Mexico's wine country! You start 4 blocks from the border of the United States in the magical town of Tecate and finish in the coastal city of Ensenada. The Tecate to Ensenada route has history taking you back to 1969 and ended in 1993. We brought back this amazing route in 2015 because this is something not to be missed. During your ride, you will experience just over 4000 feet of climbing with gorgeous scenery!
