Do you shop at Amazon.com? If so, it’s easy for you to help SDBC receive donations from Amazon to SDBC. Just use the “Amazon Smile” charitable process in your account. Amazon Smile funnels a small percentage of their eligible purchase revenue to SDBC if you activate Amazon Smile in your account and choose “San Diego Bicycle Club” as the beneficiary nonprofit.
Instead of logging in through "amazon.com" you log-in through “smile.amazon.com.” Very easy to use. It is EXACTLY the same shopping experience. Nothing changes except SDBC receives contributions from Amazon. |

2018 SDBC Sponsors
We have several new sponsors this year - Mission Federal Credit Union is our official sponsor of the SDBC Bike Safety Rodeo & helmet giveaway program, Liquid Solana Beach, our Saturday ride coffeee stop (AKA Solana Beach Coffee Company), and ROKA a perfomance design company that designs and sells performance eyewear, apparel & equipment.
Emerald Textiles will continue as our title sponsor, UC Cyclery is continuing as our official bike club and sponsor of the men's and women's Cat 1/2 teams, and all of our sponsors that supported us last year will continue to support us this year.
Please support our sponsors. Without them SDBC would not be able to maintain the racing teams and other activities that we have all enjoyed. Visit the sponsors page on the SDBC web site to view more information about each of our sponsors or click the logos to go the specific sponsor's web site. |

A Note From the President |
10 More Volunteers Needed
We need your help this Saturday, May 5th for the...
24th Annual Eastlake Cycle & 5K Run and Technology & Innovation Fair
EastLake Middle School
900 Duncan Ranch Road
SDBC is working hard to get more people on their bikes. This Saturday we’re in the South Bay with Cycle Eastlake. It’s a 25 mile bike ride + mountain bike ride + 5k walk + technology fair to raise money for the six Eastlake public schools. 500 people are expected. Details are at https://eastlakeeducationalfoundation.org.
Here’s what SDBC is doing at the event:
- 25 mile ride with SDBC as ride marshals.
- A kids' bike rodeo & helmet giveaway led by SDBC’s Barb Trenchi
- Our Junior’s Team riding their spinners will be part of the technology fair.
This includes an information table with SDBC signage and information on Club programs.
You are needed:
- 2+ additional riders to be ride marshals.
Ed Leonard Serge Isaakov, Cory Sakaguchi, Alyssa Freas, Tom Welch, Daniel DeSchepper & I will be there.
We need at least two more ride marshals.
Ride marshals ride for free; others pay $50.
Be on-site with your bikes, ready to roll at 7:15. Roll-out is 7:30.
- 4 Rodeo Volunteers
Set up with Barb 8:15 - 8:45. Event starts at 9. Ends at 11. Marshals may help out at the rodeo
when they return, if they wish to do so.
- 2 Volunteers at the technology fair to talk about SDBC and hand out material as people watch the Juniors on their spinners. I will set up the canopies & table at 7:00.
Juniors and volunteers need to be ready to rock and roll by 8:45. Also ends at 11:00.
If you can pitch in please email me at president@sdbc.org. I’ll send you details.
Thanks for making San Diego a better place for all cyclists!

2018 Barrio Logan
Saturday, April 28 |
|
Thanks to all the volunteers that made this another great day!
The annual Barrio Logan Grand Prix was last Saturday, April 28. The weather was perfect, we had a good turnout of racers, and a good time was had by all!
Without the 100+ volunteers this event could not have taken place, so again, thanks to everyone that played a part in helping out. We had people working behind the scenes the week prior to the race, during the race, and after the race.
And thanks to the many people who pitched in just because they were standing around when something needed to be done. |
