Do you shop at Amazon.com? If so, it’s easy for you to help SDBC receive donations from Amazon to SDBC. Just use the “Amazon Smile” charitable process in your account. Amazon Smile funnels a small percentage of their eligible purchase revenue to SDBC if you activate Amazon Smile in your account and choose “San Diego Bicycle Club” as the beneficiary nonprofit.
Instead of logging in through "amazon.com" you log-in through “smile.amazon.com.” Very easy to use. It is EXACTLY the same shopping experience. Nothing changes except SDBC receives contributions from Amazon. |

SDBC 2017 Sponsors
We have some new sponsors this year - Spinergy, Bonnici Law Group, and Giuseppe Restaurants & Fine Catering.
Emerald Textiles will continue as our title sponsor, UC Cyclery is continuing as our official bike club and sponsor of the men's and women's Cat 1/2 teams, and many sponsors that have supported us for years will continue to support us this year.
Please support our sponsors. Without them SDBC would not be able to maintain the racing teams and other activities that we have all enjoyed. Visit the sponsors page on the SDBC web site to view more information about each of our sponsors or click the logos to go the specific sponsor's web site. |

SDBC Members Proudly Displaying Title Sponsor
This was our third morning on Andy Hampsten’s “Cooking & Cycling Tour” based out of Castagneto Carducci in Tuscany. This particular morning, when Marc and I realized we had sunny weather and reasonably recent SDBC/Emerald Textile kits on, we decided to grab Andy to have him pose for a picture with us. For days we’ve been talking about cycling sponsorship (partly due to Jonathan Vaughters’ quest on Twitter and in the news), so I was explaining to Andy how our title sponsor’s founder, Tom Gildred, might appreciate a picture of the USA’s only Giro d’Italia winner flanked by a couple of his logos. He was asking about the business and laughing when I told him about how we share photos of the sponsor’s logos on hospital sheets when we fail to keep the rubber side down. Andy was very happy to oblige. He’s a super-nice guy anyway, but he also appreciated how we wanted to show appreciation to our title sponsor. So we had a fellow rider take a photo before heading off into the hills for a brilliant, sunny day of riding in Italy.
As a side note, both Marc and I have taken on that “Director of Sponsorship” job in the past, so we especially appreciate the generosity of sponsors as well as the challenges involved in signing new sponsors. |

November 18-19
|
It is time to mark your calendars for the annual SDBC Borrego Springs ride and camp, November 18-19.
Here's how it works:
Meet at the Mira Mesa park and ride (I-15 and Mira Mesa Blvd.) at 7am Saturday. Load your camping gear into one of the sag vehicles, and ride 75 miles to Anza Borrego State Park, Palm Canyon campground. Ready to roll at 7:30. Return ride on Sunday, via Montezuma Valley Road.
Your gear will be carried by the sag vehicles, dinner and breakfast provided by the club. Sag support is limited to carrying your gear (unless you make other arrangements with a sag driver) so you are responsible for getting yourself to camp and home again.

We need 10 sag drivers.
