Tip of the week - Know the law

Some of you may know I'm a board member at the California Association of Bicycling Organizations (CABO - cabobike.org), as a representative of our Caltrans District (District 11 - San Diego County) I published a blog article about cyclist rights and responsibilities on the CABO blog this week: - Why and how bicyclists are subject to traffic rules in California

HELP FIX THE PROBLEMS ON SAN DIEGUITO ROAD:

Here is the link to the City of San Diego website to report street problems like the cracks, potholes and bumps on San Dieguito Road between Caminito Pacifica Trail and Winland Hills:

Remember: your SDBC membership includes membership in the San Diego County Bike Coalition which includes a number of benefits. See the  coalition website at sdbikecoalition.org.

November 12th

Join SDBC women's team for a social ride on November 12th. We will meet with the other rides leaving with the usual Saturday Roll outs. Our ride pace will be moderate, between D1 and B level, following the familiar SDBC route and stopping at Java depot. (In fact, we plan to leave after B and before D1). Get to know us, ask questions about racing or just enjoy the comradeship of our team! We will be in uniform - gathering next to the B group.
For the record, all of our Saturday rides are open to everyone.

Annual SDBC Borrego Springs Ride and Camp
San Diego Bicycle Club

November 19-20

There is still room for riders, but no more sag drivers are needed.

Meet at the Mira Mesa Park and Ride (15 & Mira Mesa Blvd) at 7am to check in, load your camping gear into SAG vehicles and roll out at 7:30 for the 75 mile ride to Anza Borrego State Park, via Julian and Banner grade. We will camp at the Palm Canyon campground. SDBC provides dinner and breakfast, and all riders and campers are expected to help with meal prep, clean up and loading vehicles. The return ride on Sunday is up Montezuma Valley Road.

SAG support is limited to carting your camping gear to the campground,  unless you have your own personal arrangements with a driver. In other words, you are on your own to make the ride, legs up to the task, and a bike in good mechanical order. The group does not necessarily stick together.

Call, text or email Linda to sign up. Limit 50 riders/campers. This event is free for SDBC members. Not a member? Join. If we charged for a weekend bike tour, it would certainly be more than membership.
