The 2015 SDBC Cat 1/2 team's Venge Elite bikes are available for sale.

UCC has agreed to sell those bikes to club members at deep discounted price for $1,999. These bikes are less than eight month old, and in great shape. They will be tuned by the shop before the final sale. Venge bikes are full carbon aero bikes. They're designed for SPEED. You can find the full specs here: www.specialized.com/venge-elite

The deadline for Weekly Update submissions is Noon on Wednesday. Updates are published on Thursdays. Email submissions to weekly@sdbc.org Submissions can include anything from photos to race reports and results, etc.

Classifieds for bikes and cycling related gear can be submitted by any SDBC member. Your add will run for three weeks. In the event you have not sold your items at the end of three weeks you can re-submit the ad. Email your classified submissions to weekly@sdbc.org. Please provide any photos in the original size if possible.

UC Cyclery is our series title sponsor, which will provide onsite mechanical support and prizes.

Top six finishers in each category will be eligible to earn points towards series competition. Prizes and awards will be given to series winners at the last race of the season in November.

The registration fee for 20K is $33 for adults, and $17 for juniors. Fees for tandems and 40K are $45. All prices include processing fees. No other hidden charges.

The SDBC Men’s Development team is currently looking for Cat 4 and Cat 5 racers to join the team for the 2016 season.  If you are an experienced racer or would like to start racing, we would like to speak with you!  Members of all of our race teams will be on the B Ride and the D-1 Ride this week and will be introduced before the rides roll out.

Earlier this summer, the Board of Directors of the San Diego Bicycle Club, Inc. voted to move forward with efforts to become a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation, which is expected to attract more sponsors. Currently SDBC is a 501(c)(4) not-for-profit corporation. Because of this change, the California Secretary of State required a “Restatement of the Articles of Incorporation” by SDBC members.

On Saturday, September 12, 2015 we held a special election to revise (“restate”) the Club’s Articles of Incorporation. As secretary, I oversaw the balloting along with Marilyn Detloff, Membership Director. Club by-laws required at least 5% of the members vote. After the balloting, we had almost 10% vote, and the final results were 53 “Yes” and 0 “No.” The restated articles were approved.

At the first board of directors meeting following the vote (September 14, 2015) the Directors also unanimously approved the same “Restatement of the Articles of Incorporation.”

We will continue to keep Club members updated as this process continues.
